Let’s start with a vital vegan recipe. This fantastically versatile drink is, to put it simply, the reason we can do without the ‘normal’ milk. It goes well with coffee and on its own and is chock full of vitamins. What’s more, the meal that you’ve got left over at the end makes for great addition to muesli.


  • Handful of raw almonds (unroasted, unsalted)
  • Water for soaking


  1. Put the almonds in a bowl and cover them with water then let them soak for at least 4 hours or overnight, then rinse them fully.
  2. Put 2 pints of water and the almonds in the blender and blend for 2-5 minutes.
  3. Pour the resulting liquid through a strainer. Put the milk in the fridge. It will last for about 3 days. After that, it starts to taste sour.

Special Tip

Don’t throw away the leftover almond meal as you can use it in other meals, such as muesli, in smoothies and oat pancakes.
